Costa Rica Sports – Costa Rican powerhouse, Deportivo Saprissa, just got a little stronger with the addition of Aubrey David.

David, 25, has been contracted to play the right-back position and will join the club after Trinidad and Tobago’s Copa America playoff match against Haiti which takes place on January 8.

Saprissa, the most successful Costa Rican football club, finished the season third in the top flight.

A former Caledonia AIA footballer, David represented T&T at youth World Cups in 2007 and 2009. He has had overseas contracted in Finland with FF Jaro (2014) and later in Kazakhstan (2015), where he played with Shakhter Karagandy.

David, a naturally right-footed player who has held mainly the left-back position for T&T, but has also played centre and right-back, joins Saprissa as a replacement for Heiner Mora, who joined the team in August, but suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage. The recovery time for Mora would be six to nine months.
