An earthquake measuring 6.2 degrees of intensity shook most of Costa Rica at 4:16:34 pm today May 20, 2010. The epicenter was located 36 kilometers from the city of Quepos in Canton of Aguirre, Puntarenas.

The world’s most devastating earthquake occurred in Chile on May 22, 1960 with a magnitude of 9.5. 1655 people were killed, 3000 wounded, 2 million people homeless and $ 550 million in property loss.
