The Civil Aviation Technical Council announced that 1,380 million colones will be invested to build a new airstrip for the La Managua airfield in Quepos, the third largest in terms of connectivity in Costa Rica.
The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic authorized a direct contracting process to select the company that will carry out the works that include the construction of the new airstrip, the leveling of safety strips, rainwater systems and perimeter fencing.
At the beginning of 2020 the reception of offers will begin to develop these works, once the start order has been awarded and drawn, the company that is selected will have 135 calendar days to complete the works.
Work will be carried out for the La Managua aerodrome in Quepos, which will comply with all the regulations established by the International Civil Aviation Organization, in terms of security.
CETAC and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that an investment of ₡90,800 million will be executed in airport infrastructure and airstrips in the remainder of 2019 and 2020, for the international airports Daniel Oduber Quirós, Tobías Bolaños and Limón, a amount of ₡75,150 million and additionally advanced mixed investment projects in the concessioned airports and the rest for airstrips and airfields throughout the country.
