Costa Rica News – For many of us that live in Playa Hermosa we have been feeling disregarded by the municipality for a great deal of time now. Trash has been left in bins for over a week showing blatant unwillingness to perform their required duties to the tax payers in the area.
But perhaps they do not want to pick up the trash on a regular basis because they do not want to possibly ruin their vehicles on Calle Hermosa, which is looking more and more like a mine field than a road. The road that leads back to the public school esquela playa hermosa, the private Ficus Tree School, various rentals and homes has been left in ruin.
During the dry season the dust from the road fills the lungs of residents and comes through the windows of homes and vehicles. During the rainy season the pot holes are becoming deeper and deeper and the lack of drainage causes the road to flood like a river.
Although promises continue to be made, they never become reality. The road is becoming almost impossible to drive except for 4×4 vehicles and has claimed more than a few flat tires and other damage to vehicles trying to slalom the pot holes on the road to their homes and taking their children to school.
There was a recent rally that brought an end to paid parking in Jaco, perhaps it is time to d the same for Calle Hermosa. There is a meeting about this road this coming Monday. The letter below was issued on Facebook.
